The quality of sleep deteriorates as we get older, while the length also gets shorter. However, the importance of sleep remains the same as when we were younger.
The good news is that we can reclaim deep sleep.

I discovered a breathing method that leads to a happy and deep sleep without taking any medication or doing daytime exercises. The method is incredibly simple, introduced by Kazumasa Shiga, a brainwave researcher.
Try this even if you have already experimented with various tools.
When you breathe in, mentally say, "(what happened was) Good/Great/Amazing," and when you breathe out, say in your mind, "Thank you." Repeat this until you fall asleep.

Matsushita eventually improved his ability to sleep well after practicing this method.
This method also helps in secreting dopamine. Saying "Great" and "Thank you" in our minds activates the nervous system related to dopamine, resulting in the automatic secretion of dopamine and a feeling of happiness.
Dopamine is one of the happy hormones, promoting a positive and happy feeling.
Slow Alpha Wave
The slow alpha wave of 7.8 Hz, which occurs when telling ourselves "Great" and "Thank you," is crucial to staying positive, happy, and creative.
Shiga introduced various cases where people who practiced this breath experienced an improvement in various physical problems, not just in achieving deeper sleep or waking up feeling light.
When we cannot appreciate what happened
There are times when we cannot appreciate what happened, and we simply cannot say "Great." In such situations, Shiga suggests not forcing ourselves to say that. It is 100% understandable that life sometimes throws a curveball, so we can practice this breathing method when we can.
Since I started doing this, I've been able to sleep sooner. Even if I cannot sleep quickly, I don't mind because it provides a good opportunity to practice creating slow alpha waves in my brain.
